About The Exhibit:
SameSex explores LGBT themes, same-sex attraction, related feelings and issues of 2017. Artists need not be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender to participate.

$10 cover, includes reception food and drink, DJ and Drag contest for Queens and Kings in an outdoor fair-like atmosphere, rain or shine.
Admission to the Variety Show is $20,

Variety Show Benefit:
Enjoy complimentary wine along with comedy, dance, and music. Among the featured performances are a sampling of all-male comedy of Ballet Eloelle, and a dazzling high energy Liberace tribute by Dave Maiocco along with dance by Luis Antonio, drag performances, live painting by Ricky Mestre and others.
$25 contribution covers all above activities, conveniently located within short walking distance, includes DJ, food, drink in a festival atmosphere, complete with a Drag contest for Queens and Kings, and a Sassie Saltimboca Drag Sale.
ALL MALE COMEDY BALLET AND LIBERACE FEATURED IN POST-RECEPTION VARIETY SHOW
Victor Trevino presents a sampling of his world renowned Ballet Eloelle, all male comedy ballet troupe. Victor is the former director and founder of Les Ballets Grandiva and featured dancer of Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo.

Festivities for the Samesex Art Exhibit-Bridgeport Pride March-Downtown Celebration run from 5:30-10 pm. Tickets for reception and performance are $25. |

The SameSex exhibit and Variety show features 20 regional and national artists presenting art regarding LGBTQ issues. Inclusion, respect, solidarity and growing community have always been the intentions of this event. Every year one theme organically emerges as predominate. From the review of submissions and planning for this year’s event, the predominate theme is the necessity to grow community. It is evident through the number of featured artists who have exhibited in past years and the growing level of collaboration from our partners.
City Lights realized to grow capacity we needed to reach out for increased support, collaboration and outreach. Community partners enthusiastically committed to work with us in word and action. Along with a financial contribution, our lead sponsor, the Triangle Community Center welcomed City Lights to promote our Bridgeport Pride event at their annual Pride in the Park celebration that takes place annually in June in Norwalk. |

“Art has been a mainstay within the LGBTQ community for decades. When a group of people are marginalized, often their voices are blocked from popular media. LGBTQ people are often told that their style of expression is unacceptable. Art was a way for LGBTQ people to have a voice and not only share that within their own communities but with the world, at large. Art has also been a tool of resistance. During the AIDS epidemic, groups like ACT UP used guerilla street theater to incite people to take action.”

Yes its summertime and we are planning the Bridgeport Art Trail weekend scheduled for November 9-12, 2017.
Below please find directions regarding the format for submitting info for the 2017 Bridgeport Art Trail program guide/directory. You can review examples of 2016 listings here.
The deadline for submission is August 22.
Please send any ideas or proposals for new program ideas to be considered to clgallerybpt@gmail.com
Venues and organizations provide a general listing followed by specific information for the November Art Trail weekend along with pertinent November/December program info. Theatres, music venues, museums, arts venues are encouraged to create special programs for the city-wide arts celebration weekend or just submit info regarding programs that are part of the regular programs, already taking place November 9-12, 2017.
The Thursday Kick-off party will take place downtown at the Read’s Artspace on November 9th with a Bridgeport Art Trail sampler exhibit and artists’ party.

| Bridgeport Farmers Market Collaborative |

| The following listings represent five of the seven farmer’s markets that make up the Bridgeport Farmers Market Collaborative (not listed: the Downtown Farmers Market and the Black Rock Farmers Market). While each market offers a unique experience, all seven support one consistent mission, increasing access to healthy, local fruit and vegetables for all. This occurs through multiple ways.
Throughout the season each market offers interactive programming such as market tours and cooking demonstrations by Chef Raquel Rivera-Pablo of A Pinch of Salt.

The SNAP Matching program invites individuals to use their SNAP/EBT cards when shopping at the markets. Every dollar of SNAP swiped is an additional dollar to shop with ($1=$2). There is no minimum or maximum with this program! The Collaborative also operates a $2 or $5 coupon-program, otherwise known as Bridgeport Bucks, redeemable for fruits and vegetables. All seven markets also accept payment in forms WIC and Senior FMNP Checks, Cash, Credit, Debit.
The produce for both St. Vincent’s Farm Stand and East Side Market is provided by Cecarelli Farms in Northford, CT. Get to know your local farmer here through inquiring about specific produce and ways of preparation! St. Vincent’s operates Tuesdays, June 27-October 31, 11:30am-4pm and East Side Market operates Wednesdays, July 12-October 25, 10am-2pm.
Reservoir Community Farm is not only aesthetically pleasing but their produce shows pure beauty as well! This Farm Stand is open multiple days of the week and welcomes community involvement. Thursdays, 4-7pm and Saturdays 10am-2pm June 24-October 14.
East End Market is returning stronger than ever! This year, the market is driven towards community involvement and increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables. East End Market will operate Saturdays, July 22-October 21, 12-4pm.
South End Market offers a variety of delicious food options, from fresh fruits and vegetables to delicious cookies and jams. South End Market will operate Sundays, July 9-October 8 12:30-3:30pm. |

Wolfgang’s life-size oil paintings will feature two complete series: NICK.E.LO.DE.ON (above) celebrates the wonders of the human form and expression, and is exhibited in its entirety for the first time. TWISTED, a series of nudes that explore society’s fascination with cosmetic surgery as well as its effects on both the mind and the body.
Painter Sherri Wolfgang is known for her figurative works which utilize Renaissance painting traditions in combination with painting techniques developed by the Dutch Masters.
Historically, Wolfgang portrayed her nude figures as examinations of the various female archetypes found in visual culture, with a caricatured sexuality and affected emotions. She applies different subject matter and genres that she has passionately embraced, such as anatomy and figure drawing, Expressionism, and portraiture with the interplay of light, color, and texture.
All of her recent work has been done with a wide variety of media, including charcoal, Conte’ crayon, graphite, oil and resins on canvas, paper, and wood. This series includes portraits of a male dancer using 16th Century Mannerist aesthetics, while her upcoming series will combine Renaissance sensibilities with contemporary cultural figures.
