GBS returns to The Klein after the long dark night of the pandemic. We’ve used the time away from live concerts to learn and grow, and GBS is ready for an exciting new future. We’ll be presenting both live and recorded concerts, and expanding our reach to young and old alike. Under the exciting leadership of Eric Jacobsen, the Greater Bridgeport.
Symphony maintains the highest musical standards, presenting truly extraordinary and captivating concerts. Eric has revitalized the orchestra and brought a new level of excitement and youthful energy that is unique among regional orchestras in Connecticut.
Event: Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony Concert
Saturday, November 13; starts at 8 pm
Guest conductor Eduardo Leandro brings us the most iconic symphony ever – Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, the “Symphony of Fate” – and makes musical tradition and innovation come together with a modern piece, Jessie Montgomery’s Starburst. Add to this the exotic Violin Concerto #1 by Prokofiev, featuring solo by our own Deborah Wong, and we’ve got an evening to remember. After the pandemic months, here’s a night that brings triumph.
