“It’s Complicated” group exhibit at City Lights Gallery, 265 Golden Hill St
Exhibiting artists: Maralyn Adlin, Carlos Bautista Biernnay, Claude Desir Jr, Dan Makara, Marcella Kurkowski, Tunde Odunlade, Mark Rich, Gerald Saladyga, Isabella Saraceni, Roxanne Faber Savage, Scott Schuldt, Joan Wheeler
Fiber art, paintings, drawing and assemblage in this exhibit contain contradictory, ambiguous content with complex imagery and compositions. Although materials and techniques vary, all artists in this exhibit practice the sincere process of artmaking, combining automatism, criticism, and plan.
This exhibit encourages the viewer to spend time with complexity and uncertainty and find meaning from the personal interaction with the art.
The show is designed to encourage that we maintain an open mind and an open heart.

THE FRANKENSTEIN TWINS COME TO BRIDGEPORT, HOSTING THE ODDIITIES BAZAAR
The Frankenstein Twins are thrilled to bring their annual Oddities Bazaar to ARTCade at the Arcade Mall Bridgeport Oct. 24 from 12-7 p.m.
The Oddities Bazaar will feature local artists, crafters, and fine purveyors of curiosities large and small. All of the event’s nearly 30 vendors have been handpicked for their dark, mystical, and spooky aesthetics. Goods will include crystals, handmade soaps, metaphysical goods, weird and witchy accessories and apparel, and both new and vintage oddities, tomes, and curios.
“We’re extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with the team at the Arcade Mall Bridgeport to bring a bit of weird to downtown Bridgeport just in time for Halloween,” says Val Frankenstein, one half of the Frankenstein Twins.
In addition to the bazaar’s vendors, the event will feature an art installation and several other spooky guests and performers staged throughout the Arcade Mall rotunda. It is also expected that several of the venue’s permanent retailers will be open for limited hours during the event.
“All of the entertainment at the Oddities Bazaar is part of our mission to ‘Make Connecticut Weird,’” says Finn Frankenstein, the other half of the duo. “We’re so excited to share this year’s event with everyone.”
The Arcade Mall is located at 1042 Broad St. Bridgeport, CT 06604.
